When life gets complicated, you don’t have to figure it out alone

I help families make sense of what’s happening, decide what they need, and move forward feeling supported and held.

With more than 20 years of experience working with families through pregnancy, birth, new parenthood, and difficult transitions, I bring a calm perspective, practical expertise, and an ability to elucidate what’s underneath the problem.

Who is Sarah Moore?

I came to this work after the births of my two children. The challenges of those first few years as a parent were profound; I realized, deeply, how important good support can be.

For more than two decades, families have invited me into their homes during some of the most intimate and demanding moments of their lives. I’ve supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and the early years of parenthood.

I listen. I ask questions. I pay attention to what is happening beneath the surface of the problem. I bring knowledge, resources and experience, but I also bring something harder to define: calm, perspective, and the ability to help people figure out what they need to do next.

Sometimes that means helping with a birth plan or providing context and education around the medical model of birth. Sometimes it means figuring out why a baby won't sleep or why feeding is a challenge. Sometimes it means helping a family who has become completely overwhelmed by a new baby to find its footing again.

I’m a certified childbirth educator and doula, with additional certifications in lactation counseling, maternal mental health, and infant colic support. I have a BA from Brown University and an MA from NYU.

Sarah can handle just about anything I throw at her. She is efficient, energetic and loving and has become an important presence for my daughter. Throughout all of the projects that Sarah has helped us with, from organizing all of our closets to guiding us through our daughter’s sleep-training, breastfeeding and transitioning to solid food, she has remained a calm, level-headed, thoughtful educator and listener. She knows how to move from offering advice to listening in an expert way.

Sarah was an amazing resource for us when we came home from the hospital with our baby boy. She immediately felt like part of our family, and was a source of comfort and reassurance, providing a much-needed sense of calm in our sleep-deprived household. She did everything from helping us develop a specific plan for our son to put on weight to running errands at Target for needed supplies. On the days when we were feeling overwhelmed, we were able to relax just knowing Sarah was coming over to help out.

How we can work together

Sometimes there's a specific problem. Sometimes everything feels tangled together. I help you understand what's happening, figure out what would make things better, and make a plan. We can start with a single consultation, a home visit, or a series of sessions, depending on what would be most useful to you and your family.
